Publisher's Description:

Audio To MIDI VST (PC) - WIDI Audio To MIDI VST plugin automatically transcribes arbitrary polyphonic audio tracks into MIDI output. With this plugin, you can:

* turn an original audio record into a corresponding MIDI stream

* get instant Wave-to-MIDI transcription while playing a musical instrument

* detect chords in realtime

* play back MIDI output "as is" or use it to control MIDI-driven effects

* synchronize your MIDI device output with specific audio events

WIDI Audio To MIDI VST plugin is the first plugin that allows automatic transcription of polyphonic music. It is also the very first Audio-to-MIDI software available for MAC OS X. WIDI Audio To MIDI VST plugin is based on the original WIDISOFT technology. The plugin works with most of the popular VST-compatible software, such as Steinberg Cubase, Cakewalk Sonar, and Plogue Bidule.

WIDI Audio To MIDI VST plugin is not a stand-alone application. Visit www.widisoft.com to learn more about other WIDISOFT products. If you are looking for a more elaborate program for music recognition, learn about our WIDI Recognition System Professional.

Tried The Demo

I used the demo for a short while. I didn't really find it useful. It seemed to do OK with rhythm, though not 100%, but it struggled finding the pitch of notes. The 15 sec drop in, drop out of the demo was frustrating and annoying. Surely you can find a better way to protect you software. The documentation was lacking and I had to noodle with the 3 buttons at the bottom of the plugin window to get the midi to record.

VERY poorly documented.

I got this to use with Sonar 6. I can see and use the plug in on an audio track.

I'm trying to use it so that I can convert guitar tracks (chords) to MIDI so that I can make piano parts.

I can't figure out how to use this interface to capture the MIDI that I want. I can't even figure out whether the evaluation copy has limits, or I'm just not using it correctly, and I can't even figure out how to pay for and get a full working copy.

I'm a reasonably sophisticated user. It might be a great program, but I can't figure it out. If I can't figure out how to use it, then it's worthless
